Landscapes. A Class for Teachers and Educators
Geography teachers, educators and animators are invited to participate in an online class dedicated to heritage education on 10/12/2020, from 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm.
What is contemporary heritage education? How can it be used creatively to teach the geography curriculum? How can you teach about your region through action, encouraging students to acquire knowledge creatively on their own? How can creative field trips and photo archives enrich teachers’ work tools?
The lesson will consist of two parts:
– in the first one, we will explain the idea of present-day heritage education
– in the second one, we will tell you about the extraordinary photographic archive of Paweł Pierściński (www.pawelpierscinski.pl), the originator of the movement known as the Kielce School of Landscape, and will provide you with hints on how to use it in class.
The lesson is primarily designed for geography teachers of senior grades of primary schools, but also geography teachers in secondary schools and other educators who work with children and youths are welcome. The lesson will be taught by members of the Towarzystwo Krajoznawcze ‘Krajobraz’: Szczepan Żurek and Tomek Kaczor.
You can sign up for the Class by 04/12/2020. In order to sign up please contact: dorota.borodaj@gmail.com
The Class is organised by the Jednostka Foundation, which started work to popularise Paweł Pierściński’s archive in 2020.
